Long-term Visas:
- Business: For foreign investors, business owners, and representatives of foreign companies involved in trade, commerce, or business activities in Nepal. This visa is usually issued for 1 to 5 years.
- Work Visa: Issued to foreigners who have obtained employment in Nepal, usually through a government or private organization. The work visa requires approval from the Department of Labour and is valid for the duration of the employment contract.
- Study Visa: For international students enrolled in Nepalese educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities. This visa is issued based on the duration of the study program.
- Residential Visa: For foreigners who wish to reside in Nepal permanently, usually granted to individuals who have made a significant financial contribution to Nepal’s economy (investment of at least $100,000 USD) or have special qualifications. It is valid for up to five years.
- Marriage Visa: For foreign nationals married to Nepalese citizens. The visa is issued on an annual basis and is renewable as long as the marriage remains valid.
- Diplomatic Visa: Issued to diplomats, embassy officials, and government representatives from foreign countries who are stationed in Nepal.
- Official Visa: For individuals working with international organizations, including UN agencies and bilateral/multilateral organizations with agreements with the Nepalese government.
